Zion’s Only Full-Service Bike Shop

Zion Cycles was founded in 2003 when Fred Pagels opened the shop out of a simple shipping container in Springdale. A year later, the retail location was built on the same property where we continue to operate today. What began as a small, community focused bike shop quickly became a trusted hub for locals and visitors looking to explore Zion on two wheels.

After 13 years of ownership, Fred passed the business on to longtime locals Scott Williams and Heidi Gledhill, who also own Deep Creek Coffee and Zion Guide Hub. Deeply rooted in the Springdale community, Scott and Heidi were drawn to Zion Cycles not only for its history, but for its role in shaping how people experience Zion National Park and the surrounding region.

Today, Scott and Heidi are committed to carrying forward the same passion, integrity, and commitment to service that Fred devoted to the business for so many years. Under their leadership, Zion Cycles has continued to grow while staying true to its original mission of quality, community, and stewardship.

Beyond the shop, Zion Cycles plays an active role in supporting the future of cycling in the region. We are proud to be an important partner in the development of the East Zion Applecross trail system, helping expand responsible, sustainable riding opportunities outside of the main canyon. These efforts are part of a broader vision to relieve congestion, protect sensitive landscapes, and create meaningful outdoor experiences throughout greater Zion.

At its core, Zion Cycles exists to help every visitor have a better Zion experience, whether that means cruising the scenic drive, exploring East Zion, or discovering new ways to connect with this incredible landscape.
